Kay was born on May 10, 1944, to M.O. and Alvan Harrison in Tallahassee, Florida. Kay graduated from Leon High School in 1962 and later studied at Florida State University. After her studies she went on to work and retire from FSU after 35 years.
Kay is survived by one son, John Carter, and one daughter, LeeAnn Carter Hewett (Benny); three grandchildren, Jonathan Carter, Grant Hewett, and Brantley Hewett. She was preceded in death by husband Earnest Frazier.
She is best remembered for the things she enjoyed, which included reading, puzzles, researching family ancestry, and spending time at Alligator Point.
In lieu of a formal service, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will host visitors on Wednesday June 14, from 500 pm to 800 pm at her daughter’s home, 143 Cotillion Circle in Tallahassee.
