In 2002 Michael moved to Florida from Genoa, IL where he discovered his true calling as a plumber. He took great pride in his work, forming lasting connections with those he served and earning respect from all who knew him. For the past 10 years he was a valued employee of Keith Lawson Services. Recently retired, Michael began exploring his creative side, forging and crafting turquoise jewelry for his family."
He is preceded in death by his parents; William and Domicela (Rockley) Hayes; his sister Mary Mondl and his Son David Hayes.
Michael is survived by his wife Lynn Hayes, whom he married on December 19,2009; his Daughters Stephanie (Ron) L’Huillier, Jennifer (Adam) Klasson, and Jessica Taylor; and his Son, Jeff Winkowski. He is also survived by his Grandchildren; Giovani (Marley) Aguinaga, Morgan Dailey, Christian, Noah and Alyssa Bennett, Brandon Vermilye, Nick and Tristan Winkowski; and one Great-granddaughter, Myla Aguinaga. Additional survivors include his Sister, Janette (Gordie) Sands
The family would like to thank Big Bend Dozier Hospice House and all of his nurses for the care and compassion they showed Michael in his final days.
