Imelda Delores Bozorgmehr

She was born on January 10, 1936, in Mississippi to the late Calvin Palmer and Ethel Ritchie Palmer. In addition to her parents, Imelda was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Himmelheber and Anoosh Bozorgmehr, as well as two of her six children, Terrell Thomas Himmelheber and Dr. Christopher Himmelheber.

Imelda (“Mel”) Bozorgmehr found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially reading and camping and hiking in her earlier years, and cherished her time spent in nature. She loved a good joke or to make you smile with an old story. She also treasured her family in Foley, Alabama; her sister-in-law, Sue Palmer, and all her nieces and nephews and their children.

Ms. Bozorgmehr is survived by four children, Eve Himmelheber, Beth Fredrich and husband Glenn Fredrich, whom she lived with for the remaining years of her life, Mark Himmelheber and wife Rebecca Ransdell and Melina Bozorgmehr; six grandchildren, Thomas Himmelheber, Devin Himmelheber and wife Elizabeth Himmelheber, Joseph Daniel (“Joe”) Himmelheber and his fiancée Mariam Siddiq, Erin Branker and husband Joseph Branker, Connor Welcome and wife Josie Welcome, and Megan Himmelheber; nine great-grandchildren, Joseph Branker, Jr., Joshua Branker, Jacob Branker, Phebe Branker, James Branker, Rebekah Branker, Anna Branker, Jude Branker and due on Mother’s Day, Lucas Welcome.

There is no funeral service or memorial service planned as her wish was that friends and family would gather where they live and celebrate her life by exchanging joyful stories of her and “hoisting one” in Irish tradition! 🍀
