On July 7, 2018, Annie Doris Knights Taylor, after an enduring battle with cancer, journeyed from this life to lay peacefully in the hands of God.
Annie Doris Knights Taylor was born on December 14, 1956 to the late William and Comitt Knights in Camilla, Georgia. She was one of nine siblings. She attended Pelham High School in Pelham, GA. After the untimely passing of both parents, Annie Doris, along with the rest of her siblings, relocated to Ocala, FL.
With a passion for cooking, she began working at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) blessing the world with her culinary gifts. Annie Doris turned her life to Christ and began serving her community. She attended Harvest Life Church under the leadership of Pastor Crawford Hunter. Here she devoted her life to assisting women through the Women’s ministry services. This year she became a licensed minister.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Comitt Knights, her sisters Bobbie, Lois, Dorothy, Gloria, Mamie, brother Aldean, and her husband of 18 years Charles.
Left to carry on her legacy are her daughters Melissa Brown, Lasandra Simmons, Pamela Brown and Emily Desir, all of Tallahassee, FL ; her son Michael (Jannissa) Brown of Ocala, FL; her brother William ”Bill” (Florita) Knights of Ocala, FL; her sister Shirley Knights of Ocala, FL; her grandchildren Alexandria, Javonta, Zaria, Dominic, Manila, My’kayla, Tristen, Sereniti, Micah, Zorion , Jahzara, Anthony, LaShawn, Marquise, Tyron, LaTrell, LaMech, Marquez, Jeshurun, Perice, Kellissa, Emory, Judex ,Chance Williams; one great grand-daughter; an uncle, Bo (Flossie) Knights of Cairo, GA. Also left to cherish her memories are a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, former co-workers and friends.
