“ Stanley Ralph Kendall was born in Philadelphia PA, October 28th 1943, and graduated life at the age of 79 on July 27, 2023 in Federal Way, WA.
Stan is preceded in death by his Mother Charlotte Kendal and Father Stanley W Kendall
He is survived by his Life partner Margarete Reichl for the past 30 years, sisters Susan Kendall and Judy Chung, children John Kendall, Beth Kendall and Rebecca Shirley (Jason), grandchildren Ryan Kendall, Haley Kendall, Nate Shirley (Melanie), Samantha Shirley, and Kaitlynn Shirley, great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Kevin, and many extended family members that Stan held near to his heart.
Stan met Margie in 1994. He was a frequenter of the gas station where Margie worked. His first words to her were "how the hell are you? " in this big booming voice of his. After several visits, Stan said to Margie “I have a question for you and to be honest, I’ve been married three times.” Margie laughed and said “So have I.” That broke the ice and they began dating.
When he met Margie he was amazed by her large family. They would gather for Christmas and he was in awe of how all the presents would take up the whole living room.
He loved his grandchildren and Great grandchildren deeply! He always enjoyed getting his hugs.
He was close to his cousins Bruce, Linda Goode, Donnie and Jack. He used to spend time with cousin Donnie at family reunions. And loved spending time with cousin Bruce talking about cars.
He was known as Ralph growing up because his dad's name was also Stanley.
Stan was an Airmen Second Class in the Air Force From 1960-1964.
He started working for Toyota where he met his best friend Ron Siravo. They were friends for over 50 years. He was also friends with Ron's wife Diane, whom he introduced to Stan saying “she is a hoot". One of their favorite stories was of them driving a Yugo from Florida to Washington. While going through Montana, Stan was pulled over for speeding. The cop told them they had to enforce the 55 mph speed limit even though most people agreed that that was too slow given the amount of distance that must be driven in Montana. The ticket was $5 and they paid it on the spot with cash.
Stan had a few special people everywhere he went that he would call and check up on like friends Mike and Jackie Zahringer, and David Neiderstadt.
Stan retired at the age of 72. We enjoyed lots of rides on the motorcycle and in the car. Stan loved driving to new places, and meeting new people.
Stan was my best friend and I will miss his hugs, laughter, and most of all his big loving heart that he shared with ALL whom he met. I'm proud to have shared his life on earth with him, and I know that I'll meet him again on that beautiful shore. Love you hon.
