January 13, 1935 – February 26, 2025
Sandra (Sandy) Lee Reardon 90, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on February 26, 2025. She was born in Tacoma, Washington, on January 13, 1935 to Ted Gesch and Mildred (Arneson) Gesch. She was the oldest of three children. After graduating from Stadium High School, she worked as a telephone switchboard operator. She met her husband Jack, at the USO club, while attending a Halloween masquerade party. They were engaged by Christmas Eve and got married the following February, 1957. They settled in Tacoma, Washington, where they raised three daughters and one son.
Sandy had a passion and a talent for art. She engaged in creating different types of art pieces until she discovered that she had a particular talent with oil painting. She created many beautiful oil paintings of flowers, mushrooms, mountains and dramatic ocean beaches. Sandy was a homemaker for years, raising her children. As her children got older, she worked part-time at a friend's talent agency that booked musicians around the greater Puget Sound area. She later worked as a part-time courier driver.
Sandy loved boating around the Puget Sound with Jack on their boat, "Ninigret." They belonged to the Fircrest Yacht Club for many years. Upon Jack's retirement, Sandy and Jack enjoyed traveling to Europe and Hawaii. Hawaii became their favorite destination, where they returned annually for many years.
Sandy is survived by her daughter Kathleen M. Hughes (Jeff) of Kent, WA; daughter Stacy A. Siegel (Tony) of University Place, WA; son Michael A. Reardon (Julie) of Kalama, WA; and daughter Karen T. DeSilva (Rob) of Redmond, WA; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Sharon Thaut, brother Ted Gesch, and many nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. You are welcome to leave condolences and any fond memories of Sandy here on this website. Donations, if you choose, can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
Sandy’s warmth and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
