Russell David Bogart Sr.

Russell David Bogart Sr., age 71, of Bremerton, Washington passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023.Russell was born September 29, 1952 in Los Angeles, CA . Russ leaves behind his wife Launi, brother Doug (Diana), son Russell Jr, grandson John, niece Jen (Regan), nephews Neal (Laura) and Jeff, three grandnieces and a grandnephew. He served in the Navy in the 70's and then worked 41 years for the government primarily at TRIDENT Refit Facility, Bangor (WA) as a marine mechanic. He retired in 2014 with plans to work around the house, attend Seattle Mariner baseball games and travel. Sadly he suffered a major debilitating stroke in October of 2015 paralyzing his right side, putting him in a wheelchair and in assisted living due to other complications. He became a friendly face to many residents and staff at the facility he was at - going out of his way to say "Hi" to many. Shortly before Christmas this past year he had a new event occur, which exacerbated his original stroke issues and led to him passing in the hospital a couple weeks later. Interment and full military honors will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA 98042 1:00 pm February 15, 2024.
