Bob was born June 14, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to his parents Lottie and Joseph Oswald. He graduated from University of Chicago Lab school and went on to University of Colorado in Boulder where he earned a business degree and met and married the love of his life, Jacqueline “Jackie” Fischer. Upon graduating, Bob and Jackie moved to Michigan where he worked for the Ford Motor Company. The couple had three children and moved to Washington state in 1967 when Bob took a position with PACCAR. While there his career spanned 23 years and several promotions ultimately holding responsibility for PACCAR’s manufacturing plant in Renton as Assistant General Manager.
Bob enjoyed, sharing his passion for the outdoors with his family including fishing, boating and skiing where the associated car-rides were often accompanied by sing-alongs from his favorite artists including Neil Diamond and John Denver. Bob enjoyed his retirement years traveling the world with Jackie and spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his daughter Carrie Oswald of Snoqualmie, WA; his son and daughter-in-law, Doug Oswald and Julie Hackworth of Bainbridge Island, WA; his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Mike Meder of Snoqualmie, WA and his three grandchildren, Haley Groth, Sydney Oswald and Jackson Oswald.
We know that Dad and Mom are once again united and smiling down on their family with great pride.
