Melvin "Tim" Harvey Miller

1941-2026

Tim was born and raised in Tacoma, where he died recently from the effects of Alzheimer's disease. He graduated from Puyallup High School in 1959, attended both UPS and WSU then graduated from Western Washington University in 1964. He began his career as a science teacher, mostly biology, in Redwood City, California, then continued in Tacoma at Gault Jr. High, Lincoln High School and Stadium High School until he retired in 1996. After leaving Stadium, he turned his summer work into a full-time job painting houses and doing light construction.

Starting at an early age, Tim was always active. He enjoyed many activities from photography to hiking and backpacking, sailing and flying radio controlled airplanes which he built from scratch. He was often building or repairing something - from bath and kitchen remodels to a beautiful Quaker style buffet, a greenhouse and a two seater sailboat.

Tim is survived by Robi, his wife of 61 years and sons Steven (May) and Dan, sister Sandra Rice (Al Rice, Deceased) and brother Jon (Sandy).

A burial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church where Tim was a active member for over 50 years. The family invites any remembrances to go to Christ Church or a charity of your choosing.
