Olympia, Washington - Lynda Myree (Leber) Adams passed away March 29, 2025, in Olympia, WA. She was a living legend to her friends and family. Lynda was born to Charles and Patrica (Keogh) Leber in Kent, WA, on September 7, 1941.
Lynda was a 1959 graduate of Kent Meridian High School, where she served as the school annual's editor throughout her high school years. After graduation, Lynda attended the University of Washington. She traveled the world with her son and daughter, Mike and Leah, living a number of years in Africa and England.
Lynda's early love was painting. She was a magnificent artist, who painted what she saw. She also was an accomplished seamstress, loved playing the piano and cooking; she was considered a gourmet chef.
In 1971, Lynda married Jerry Adams. He was the love of her life, and boy, could they dance ~ it was a sight to behold!
They moved their family to Montesano in the summer of 71'. Jerry, being an avid golfer, sparked Lynda's passion for golf! She was an extremely avid and competitive golfer, winning many tournaments over the years. She and Jerry were dedicated members at the Grays Harbor Country Club from 1972 through 2000. In 2001, they moved to Olympia, WA and joined the Olympia Country Club, where they both golfed and met many new longtime friends. Jerry passed away in 2007. At Lynda's 50th class reunion, she rekindled a friendship with classmate Ken Thorpe, and they married in 2009. Ken passed away in 2017. Mom continued to live at the golf course, still golfing two times a week, walking three miles a day, and doing her Pilates!
Lynda was a great mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She had numerous life-long friendships and was always involved with the golf community, making a difference wherever she was. Among Lynda's accomplishments, she was heavily involved for more than three decades with the Pacific Northwest Golfing Association, becoming the first ever woman president of the organization in 2000. She served with grace, charm, a warm smile, and an incredible sense of humor. She was as humble as she was exceptional. Thank you to Steve (Stephen) Trosper for coming into moms life and bringing back the love of music, new adventures, and happiness.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles Jr. She is survived by her son Mike (Kim) Adams of Montesano, WA, daughter Leah (Bradley Smits) Parker of Abram, WI, step-daughter Mona Adams of Portland, OR, five grandsons Jeffrey Parker, Michael (Jaimi) Adams, Craig Parker (Kari), Bryan (Breanna) Adams, and Jacob Parker, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Oh mom, we will miss the sheer joy of the party that you were as well as your dancing in the kitchen!
A Celebration of Life will be held, Tuesday, June 24, between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., at the Olympia Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Union Gospel or Chick Evans Scholarship.
