Louis J. Arcieri, your memory is a treasure we hold in our hearts. A great man that is heavily loved passed away peacefully at Retsil Veterans Home in Washington State after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia with complications due to COVID and Pneumonia. Angels carried him home on March 29, 2023 at 6:30am. Louis was 85 years of age. A family man extraordinaire, Generous, Loving, Friend to everyone, Ready to lend a helping hand at a moment’s notice, Giver of wisdom, Unselfish, A man loved by many and already missed.
Louis is survived by his wife, Patricia. They were High School sweethearts, Married August 2, 1958 in Hornell NY, they shared a deep love and devoted marriage for 64 years. Children Roxane M. Van Datta (Kevin) of Silverdale, Joseph R. Arcieri (Terri) of Belfair. Siblings Louise Hockenberger (William) of Penfield NY, James Arcieri (Debbie) of Queens Creek AZ. Blessed with 5 Grandchildren Peter, Daniel, Bryanna, Nicole and Dezryelle and 6 Great-Grandchildren, Aubrey, Julianna, Lacey, Lucas, Ava and Archer. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Francis Arcieri and Shirley May Arcieri, Brother Raymond Arcieri and Brother Robert Arcieri.
Louis was born in Hornell NY. He graduated from Hornell High School in 1955. He went to work for the Erie Railroad for a short time. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1955. His 20 year Military Career took him and Patricia across the United States several times from New York to Beeville TX, Lompoc CA, Schenectady NY, San Pedro CA, Norfolk VA, Bangor Washington State and internationally Cuba, Puerto Rico and Guam. After serving 20 years in the military he retired in the beautiful State of Washington. His decorated USN career path included PHC Combat Camera Group serving in Vietnam for one year earning Chief and CWO-2 USS Constellation CVA64. In his early years he attended USC Filmmaking classes and often mentioned he attended a class with the now famous George Lucas. He and his daughter attended Olympic Community College during the same timeframe and received an Associates of Arts Degree. He was a business man, co-owned and operated Seabeck Marina in Washington. Louis was diligent in reestablishing the Salmon population in the Hood Canal by working with the Fisheries Department raising salmon in saltwater pens at the marina. As well as Louis was Owner of DC Engineering in Chico Washington.
Louis and Patricia were adventurous as they traveled in their trucks with cab-over-campers to Mexico for three months, with close friends. In 2007 they cruised to Italy, Greece and Turkey with family. They traveled throughout the Alaska territory with family via Motor coach. Louis and Patricia loved boating and were avid fisherman and woman spending many summers in the town of Tahsis in Vancouver Island whereby friends and family visited on a rotation basis for an amazing week of fishing. Louis also fished the oceans of Guam and La Paz, Mexico. Another of his passions, Bow and Rifle Hunting for Deer and Elk, all the men in the family and friends gathered from around the country meeting in Durango Colorado for decades.
