Kenneth Linden Smithson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many, passed away on the morning of January 30, 2025. Lynden was born March 7, 1942, in Neilburg, Saskatchewan to Wesley Smithson and Maybelle Christensen. Lynden graduated from Lloydminster High School, Alberta and attended College of Great Falls Montana and graduated from Western Washington University. This is where he met Patricia Louise Dawson through a friend from Canada. They were married January 1, 1966 at St Martin of Tours Church in Fife. Lynden went on to graduate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego. He served as legal counsel for various businesses in California, Washington and Europe. Lynden was preceded by his brother Curtis Smithson.
Lynden was “a people person”, his sense of humor was cherished by everyone. He never met a stranger he didn’t like; he enjoyed people immensely.
Above all, Lynden cherished spending as much time with his sons Lynden and Raegan along with Lynden’s wife Alisha and their children Corbyn, Isaac and Emerald. He was a fixture at the soccer, football and baseball games of his sons growing up and enjoyed watching Corbyn play as he grew older.
Lynden loved sports especially hockey which he grew up playing in Canada. He organized teams at Western Washington University and Thomas Jefferson School of Law . The teams shared many fun times and successes. The Las Vegas Knights was the team he supported to the end.
Besides hockey, Lynden was an avid football supporter. He coached from the couch and could share statistics from each game most accurately.
Flying was a long-time hobby of Lynden’s. As a private pilot, he preferred to travel by air rather than having to pass all the cars on the freeways. He was a skillful and careful pilot logging thousands of hours over his lifetime.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in memory of Lynden on Saturday August 9,2025 , 11:00 at St Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Fife, Washington
