Mom was 96 at the time of her passing. She is survived by a younger sister, Celine Nichols, and six adult children, Cathi, Steven, Charlene, Gini, Brian and Mark along with many grandchildren and many more great grandchildren.
Mom was a very accomplished woman who reinvented herself numerous times over her work life outside of being the best Mom. She went from being a file clerk for Dunn and Bradstreet during WW2 to entering the nursing profession in 1961. She then entered the fledgling Respiratory Therapy field in 1966, eventually becoming the program director of Respiratory Therapy for Highline Community College in 1976. She retired from that position.
Not one to sit still and rest on her laurels Mom and her life partner Jackie Henry traveled all over the lower 48, Alaska and Mexico.
Mom made history, by becoming the oldest Certified Tai Chi instructor, in the US, at the age of 80 and served in that role for several years, even traveling to China to visit the home monastery for the TaiChi discipline!
