On August 1st, 2023, José Vicente (Vincent) Sandoval of Tumwater, Washington passed away peacefully in Olympia, Washington, after a short battle with cancer. He was 60 years old. Vincent was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1963 to Ignacio Andres Sandoval and Maria del Carmen Moreno. Vincent was the youngest of five children.
In his early adulthood, Vincent worked on a cruise ship with his closest friends, Jaime', Herman, Alvaro, and Jairo, who became like brothers. Their families were and remain joined by their love. Vincent later immigrated to the United States, where he became a proud citizen. In 1996, Vincent married his former wife Jennifer Sandoval, and had two sons, Dylan in 1999 and David in 2003. He lived and raised his children in Danbury, Connecticut before moving to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire in 2003.
Vincent met his wife Danika Brazil and relocated to Tumwater, Washington in 2017. They married in 2022.
Vincent worked in the field of information technology for most of his career. He worked for IBM for nearly 30 years and most recently, worked for the great company of Alight Solutions.
Vincent was very active and was passionate about his fitness. Specifically, he was an avid cyclist and could often be found on his bike, for both competition and leisure. Many dear friends were made through his Sunday group rides and amateur races. This passion was passed to and shared with his youngest son David, an accomplished competitive cyclist. His greatest love was always that for his family and friends, many of whom will remember the raucous laughter he caused and the joy that he radiated with his goofy personality and sense of humor. Those who knew Vincent knew him as an unwaveringly kind man, boisterous and outgoing, a social butterfly who always put smiles on the faces of those around him.
Vincent is predeceased by his parents Ignacio and Maria, his friends Jaime Guerrero and Jairo Sanchez, and his brother Luis Ignacio Sandoval. Vincent is survived by his beloved wife Danika Brazil, his sons Andrés Sandoval, Dylan Sandoval, and David Sandoval, his stepchildren Drew Brazil and Koda Brazil, his sisters Maria Judith Sandoval, Delia Maria Sandoval, and Mary Lucy Sandoval, his godson Nicholas Guerrero, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
To honor Vincent’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Vincent asked to be remembered in private by friends and family. The Sandoval family kindly asks for donations to the National Interscholastic Cycling Association in lieu of flowers.
