John Robert Towers

John Robert Towers, 60, passed away in Tacoma on December 12th, 2017. John fought hard and lost his battle to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife Marti Towers of 25+ years. He liked to go fishing and enjoyed cooking as well. John was a retired Navy veteran and enjoyed working on vintage vehicles. He was the founder of the Disabled Veterans Motorcycle Club (DVMC) which continues on today. He enjoyed riding his Harley and hanging out with his brothers. .

He leaves behind his mother, Marianne Schultz, sisters Ilona Helgeson and Michelle Martinez, step daughter Lisa Bono, along with nieces and great nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Lee Towers.

There will be a graveside service at Tahoma National Cemetery on January 11th at 11:30am located at 18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA 98042. With a Celebration of Life to follow at Stockton's Restaurant & Spirits 23220 Maple Valley Black Diamond Rd SE, Maple Valley, WA 98038.
