Dr Elmer Mitchell Cranton

Born in Haverhill, MA, on September 17, 1932, he joined the Navy after high school and trained as a Navy pilot during the Korean War. During his Naval tenure, he served as the Commanding Officer at Byrd Station in Antarctica.

He attended the University of Colorado and received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1964. He practiced medicine in California and Virginia before moving to Washington in 1990. Beyond his successful clinical practice, he founded a nutritional supplements company and is an internationally published author. A brilliant thinker and clinician with a remarkable range of knowledge, he was also an entrepreneur and innovator.

Dr. Cranton is survived by his wife, Nancy, his three daughters, Anne, Catherine and Jennifer, their spouses, his 10 grandchildren, and his two brothers, Norman and Hartley.

He was well loved by his family and his patients. Time spent in the outdoors brought him peace and joy and he shared this appreciation and sense of adventure with his family. Dr. Cranton will be remembered for his service to others.

A Celebration of Life will be held in July 2022.
