Dennis J Garrecht, 76, of Tacoma passed away on Oct. 28, 2019. Born on April 1, 1943 to William and Alberta (Gayda) Garrecht, he graduated from Carroll High in Yakima, WA and Buffalo State University College in Buffalo NY with a degree in Geology. He served 4 years in the Marine Corp and 21 years in the Army, retiring as a Chief Warrant Office (CW3) in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Becky (Krzywda) Garrecht; daughter Chalise (Ii) Garrecht of Parkand, WA; brother, Robert Garrecht of Boise; Sisters, Kay (Pat) Syms of Palouse, WA, Lisa Cline of Roanoke VA, and Carol (Michael) Wyant of Leavenworth, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Garrecht and sister Nancy Garrecht. Dennis was admired and well-liked by most people he met in his life. He had a positive and can do attitude about life which he expressed on his favorite hat “Don’t’ worry be Happy”. He was always ready to lend a hand and words of encouragement to those in need, he will be missed by the many lives he positively touched. At his request there will be no services. Remembrances can be made in his memory to the United Cerebral Palsy Association.
