David Joseph Rosellini, of Orting, WA, was a fixture in Tacoma's fabric. In his early years, he worked at The Elks and then the night crew of the Tacoma News Tribune ensuring no one missed receiving their morning news. It was during this time he forged a lifetime bond with a group of friends as they made both money to pay their way through college as well as memories to laugh over long into their later years. Dave's chosen path was to become an educator, dedicating his adulthood to teaching at Reed Elementary, Park Avenue School, Fern Hill and Baker Middle School, from which he retired in 2003.
Dave loved to cook, listen to music, play poker + fantasy football with the boys, fish Mineral Lake, go camping, dig clams, and dote over his children and grandchildren. Father to Tony, Geno + Jessie Rosellini; Angie + Tom Rodriguez; and Chris + Sarah Dicugno. "Papa" to Gavin, Marin + Roen Rosellini; Alison + Travis Rodriguez; and Claire, Anna + Levi Dicugno. And friend to everyone who met him. To his adoring wife, Ann, his last message was "I love you my girl."
Dave passed away on Friday, May 11 at the age of 74. He was a respected and endeared teacher to all he taught, a beloved and dependable friend to many, a loving husband, a fantastic father and a doting and adored grandfather. The world was lucky to have had him.
