Bryan A. Golden was born at Providence Hospital in Seattle in 1925. He finished his life journey March 10, 2019 in Maple Valley, WA. Bryan grew up in Seattle and graduated from Odea High School in 1943. He then joined the Naval Reserves active duty, serving in WWII aboard the USS Abatan, a water maker ship which provided over a 100,000 gallons of water a day for landing craft in the South Pacific. After honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked as a machinist for Pan American Airlines at San Francisco airport. He married Alberta Van Lobberegt in 1948 and they built a house together for their three young sons in Menlo Park, CA. The family returned to Seattle in the early 1960's and Bryan went to work for Honeywell where he was employed for 30 years. His last position there was subcontract management which involved travel to Australia in addition to travel within the United States. He retired in 1992.
Bryan and Alberta divorced and he later married Doris Fritzen. They enjoyed boating, fishing and the breeding and showing of Persian cats. Doris passed away in 2000. Bryan has remained friends down through the years with Doris's daughter Sidney Stockinger and they often talked on the phone.
Bryan is survived by his wife Donna, his sons Bryan (Donna) of Carmel Valley, CA; Carey (Liz) of Woodinville, WA and Dan (Felisa) of Kingston, WA. Also surviving him are step-daughters Crystal (Ron) Billings of University Place, WA and Adrienne Martin (Chris) Shelley of Maple Valley,WA. He was loved by his Golden grandchildren--Bryan (Takumi) of Fairbanks, AK; Shawn (Lauren) of San Antonio, TX; and Shannon (Samantha) of Berryton, KS and step-grandchildren Kaare & Emily Billings and Matthew & Jonathan Shelley. There are six Golden great grandchildren: Madison, McKinley, Monroe, Sondra, Christopher & Logan. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Pat) Golden of Auburn and their children Jim (Pam) Golden and Joni (Giles) Lawrence as well as his nephew Dean Golden, Don's son.
He was a member of the Sequim Elks and Honeywell's MSEA retirement group. He loved boating, RVing and his dogs, especially Bailee, Daisy & Maggie.
Bryan was predeceased by his parents, Bryan J.& Ann (Norling) Golden and his brother Don Golden.
He will be interred at the National Cemetery in Kent, WA in a private ceremony for the immediate family. An outdoor Celebration of Life will be held later on at the family home in Maple Valley for others to attend, date to be determined.
