Barbara Lee Quimby

Born September 16, 1938 in Ocean Shores, Washington, Barbara Quimby, 78, passed away on October 22, 2016, in Shelton, Washington. She graduated from Hoquiam High School, and was retired. Barbara had many names: Barbara, Barb, Mom, Grandma Quimby,Great-Grandma. She worked for the state of Washington’s Department of Social and Health Services for many years before retiring in 2000. She loved hummingbirds, holidays, and her family and friends. She stayed busy with senior tours, lunch with friends,and going to concerts. Barbara lost her battle with cancer after a 2 year fight. She was brave and a role model until the very end. Barbara is survived by her brother, Joe Bowley and his wife, Betty; living children, Cathy (54), Tommy (53) and his partner Jeannette (54), Connie (52); grandchildren, Dawne (36), Brandy (34), Julie (33), Jason (23); great-grandchildren, Owen (6), McKenzie (6), Eli (9 months). She is dearly missed by all who loved her. Memorial Service for friends and family will be held at Shelton United Methodist Church (1900 King Street, Shelton, WA 98584) on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance( http://www.seattlecca.org ) Cremation arrangements handled by Neptune Society in Tacoma, Washington.
