Anita Sandra Ewings of Chehalis, Washington passed away peacefully at Centralia Providence Hospital on June 9 2024. Anita was born on April 8, 1946 in Raymond, Washington to David E Holmes and Louisa E Scobee. She was one of eleven children; Anita attended Raymond High School where she played in the school band. She graduated in 1964. While attending the Raymond Nazarene Church in 1963, she met and fell in love with Garth Ewings, a member of the US Air Force. They planned to marry upon his return from the impending assignment. They were married on May 22, 1965 and moved to Great Falls, Montana. Then on to other assignments in Maine, Washington, Minnesota, Montana, Germany and Utah. As an Air Force wife, she participated in their activities involving children and bowling.
In 1982, they settled in Chehalis, Washington. She became a member of The American Legion Auxiliary and participated in their activities including parades, dinners and bingo; Anita enjoyed attending many high school and college sporting events with her husband and loved watching game shows on TV.
Anita is survived by her husband of 59 years, Garth, son Keith Ewings, daughter’s Sandra and Alice Ewings, sister Phillis (Walter) Parker, brothers Dee (Kathy) Holmes, Eugene Holmes and Kenneth Holmes. Her parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. No memorial service is planned.
