Tom, aka "Big T" lived a life full of love, purpose, and family. He was the beloved son of Robert & Muriel Lawson and grew up in Rockland County, New York, where he formed lifelong bonds with family and friends. He was a proud sibling to Robert "Bob" Lawson, Jr., Kathy Albertson, Kristine Morley, Stephen "Steve" Lawson, James "Jim" Lawson, & Kevin Lawson.
Tom married the love of his life, Stephanie "Penny" Alexander, on June 20th, 1970, in New City, New York. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.
He was a loving and devoted Father to Kelly, Keri, Casey, and Katie, and a loving Papa to Madelyn, Brooke, Ian, Ella, Colin, & Claire.
Tom had quite the impressive athletic career, beginning in high school. This time was dubbed the “Greatest Decade for Athletic Supremacy in Rockland County Sports History.” Tom was recently honored for his high school achievements when he was inducted into the Rockland County Sports Hall of Fame. This was just the beginning for Tom, he went on to receive a full academic and sports scholarship to the University of Notre Dame. In 1966, Tom and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish college football team succeeded in winning the National Championship. In 2016, with his teammates and family, Tom celebrated the 50th anniversary of this championship during the Notre Dame vs. Michigan State game. It was a joyful occasion in South Bend, Indiana.
Outside of his vibrant sales career and sports accomplishments, Tom was happiest catching a Notre Dame game surrounded by his family, friends and some good food. He never missed an opportunity to tell a “dad joke” or regale anyone who would listen with a funny story. His sayings and jokes are currently being passed on to the youngest generation.
He is survived by his wife Penny, Kelly (Daughter), Keri (Daughter), Casey (Son), Katie (Daughter), Madelyn (Granddaughter), Brooke (Granddaughter), Ian (Grandson), Ella (Granddaughter), Colin (Grandson), & Claire (Granddaughter).
He was preceded in death by Robert Lawson Sr., Muriel Lawson, & Kevin Lawson.
Tom's legacy will live on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the countless memories cherished by family and friends. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
