Richard Louis Stepp

He graduated in 1967 from United Township High School, East Moline, IL. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1968 and served for 8 years mostly aboard the submarine, USS Woodrow Wilson.

While stationed in Honolulu, HI he met his wife Nancy. They married on Dec 23, 1972 in Racine, WI. After leaving military service in 1976 they lived and worked in Washington state where their two sons were born.

In 1985 the family moved to Peoria, AZ. After 26 years he retired from Arizona Public Service. Richard and Nancy really enjoyed traveling in their retirement years. Rich was a golfer and avid sports fan. He was a wonderful husband and father who devoted his life to his wife and children. Richard is survived by Nancy, sons Troy and Ian and sister Ruth Marie Lange of Nashville, TN.

A service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 2:00pm at the National Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ. A Celebration of Life will be held at the family’s home, 7220 W Emile Zola Ave, Peoria, AZ following interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans in his memory.
