Philip Edmund Yutzy, beloved life partner of Joanne Yutzy, passed away on December 19, 2024 (in hospice) near their home in Avondale, Arizona, at the age of 70 after a long and brave battle with prostate cancer. He was born October 13, 1954 in Wheeling, West Virginia.
He graduated from Maumee HS (Ohio) in 1972 and attended the University of Cincinnati as a voice major. Phil’s interests throughout his life included singing and the outdoors. He sang in various groups - most notably with the Phoenix Chorale, a professional Grammy winning chamber choir based in Phoenix, Arizona. When not singing, he enjoyed spending time hunting, camping, and fishing with close friends and family. He especially loved fishing on the Black River in the White Mountains of Arizona.
Phil had several occupations throughout his life involving sales and management and ultimately retired from the construction industry as a purchasing manager/estimator. After retiring, he enjoyed spending quality time with family and close friends.
He is preceded in death by Paul L. Yutzy and Joyce E. Yutzy (Thompson) as well as brother Mark A. Yutzy (spouse Katherine Ross Yutzy). He is survived by Joanne Yutzy, sister Kathleen Wonus (spouse Thomas Wonus), seven nieces and nephews as well as 10 grand nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed close and loving relationships with his stepson Chris Carlson (spouse Katrina) and step grandchildren Chloe and Ricky. In keeping with Phil’s desire for a private farewell, no public service will be held.
