October 19, 1935 – September 15, 2025
Nancy Ann (Lee) Swortzel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025. She was 89 years old.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, on October 19, 1935, Nancy was a people person, had a smile for everyone, and loved to talk to anyone within minutes of meeting them.
Nancy shared 64 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Dick, building a life full of love, travel, laughter, hobbies, and friendships. She was a devoted mother to Robert (Bob), Richard, and Timothy, and a proud grandmother to Jacob, Caleb, April, and Michael. She fiercely loved and protected her family, always cheering them on with quiet strength and deep affection.
A woman of strong Christian faith, Nancy lived with the unshakable belief that Jesus was her Lord and Savior. She gently encouraged others to explore their faith by reading the Bible and inviting God to make Himself known in their lives.
As Dick reflects:
“Together we have had a great life—great family, great times together, great friends and great neighbors. The Lord has blessed us in immeasurable ways. Despite the heartaches, the blessings have far exceeded them. Life is good!”
Those words speak beautifully to Nancy’s legacy. She will be deeply missed, but her love and light remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life and what would have been her 90th birthday will be held on October 19, 2025 2:00 PM at Grandview Terrace in Sun City West, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Navigators Charity to honor Nancy's memory - http://bit.ly/48iM2mO
