Helen M Butler

Helen was born on June 19, 1945, in Los Angeles, California. She lived in Southern California for most of her life, apart from brief periods in Ohio and Missouri.

In her early years, Helen worked as a cocktail waitress before putting herself through school and earning a certificate in accounting. She later became a bookkeeper.

Family meant everything to Helen, and she was fiercely protective of those she loved. She enjoyed spending time with friends, seeing live bands, listening to classic country music, dancing, and going on cruises.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, David Butler; her daughter, Colleen Klein-Stroup; her parents, James and Norma Irwin; her sister, Kathleen Pennell; and her brothers, Jamie Irwin and Michael Irwin.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Kristin Stroup and Heather Engen, and her great-grandchildren, Brynn Jusko-Jones, Audrey Engen, and Austin Engen.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lake View Terrace Memory Care and Compassus Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Helen during her final days.

No one who met Helen ever forgot her fiery personality, which perfectly matched her fiery red hair. She will remain forever in our hearts and will be deeply missed. Her family finds peace in knowing that she has been reunited with her departed loved ones and is now with her Lord and Savior.
