August 18, 1953 – February 15, 2025
Garrett was a compassionate and generous man whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He had a deep love for his family and many friends. In his younger years, he played football in high school and college, later channeling his passion for the game into coaching semi-pro football. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan who loved spirited discussions about the team and attending games with his longtime friend and brother, Courtney. He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course with his buddies and relaxing on the beach, but above all, he found purpose in helping others.
As a dedicated coach and mentor, Garrett inspired countless friends, co-workers and players, always leading with encouragement, wisdom, and an unwavering belief in those around him. His kindness and guidance touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and support.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan, and their daughter, Noelle, who both will forever cherish his love and wisdom. He also leaves behind his sisters, Sylvia Dorsey and Gail, along with her husband, Eric Randle, his brother-in-law, Stephen, and his wife, Phyllis Phillips; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey.
Garrett’s warmth, generosity, and steadfast support will never be forgotten. His impact will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
