Christopher Marcel Martinez

Christopher Marcel Martinez passed away peacefully at home on July 10th, surrounded by his loving family. Chris was born on August 15th, 1967, in Phoenix, Arizona to Thomas v. Martinez and Connie r. Meza. He was the 8th child and is proceeded in death by his son Nico, his father Tom, his brother Tommy and his two younger twin sisters, Margaret Mary and Rosemary.

He is survived by his loving wife Laura, his son Christopher and his daughter, Isabella.

He is also survived by brothers Michael (Susan), Frank, Andy (Annette) and sisters Tisa (Dennis), Kathy (Henry) Carmel, and Kelley (Jimmy). He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and many friends. He will especially be missed by his cousin Sean Meza.

Chris will be remembered as a wonderful, devoted husband to Laura and father to Christopher and Isa.

Chris was one of a kind, the one that did make this world a better place, from serving the hungry and the needy, providing mutual aid to our unhoused neighbors and the many years he put into social justice and his work with Food Not Bombs. He was fiercely committed to making this world a better place for his children.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Service for Chris on Saturday, July 25th at First Church UCC 1407 North 2nd Street. Phoenix, Arizona 85004 at 10am. Food and refreshments to follow the service.
