Alan Lee Tipton

Alan Lee Tipton was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 28th 1946 to the parents of Ware and Anna Tipton. He spent his childhood participating in the Boy Scouts, playing little league baseball, basketball and traveling with his parents and older brother, George.

He graduated high school in 1964 from Highland Park. He proudly served in the army starting in 1969 and received an honorable discharge from service in 1971. After that he went on to attend Kansas University then Washburn University, graduating with a law degree and practiced law for many years.

In 1982 he became the father of his son, Jeremy, with his daughter, Kristin, following two years later in 1984. He was a loving and devoted father to his children. He became a proud grandfather in 2012 to Saoirse and again in 2022 to Penelope.

Other notable passions throughout his life included visiting iconic American landmarks, supporting KU basketball, reading and watching films and most of all, spending time with family and loved ones.

On May 24th 2025 he passed away surrounded by his family. He is survived by Jeremy, Kristin, his grandchildren and long term partner, Florence and her family.

Alan will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, generosity and willingness to help others anyway he could.
