William Warren “Bill” Wilkins of Mount Dora, Florida passed away at the age of 90 on Nov. 29, 2017. He was born in Milton, MA on Aug. 8, 1927 to the parents of Henry Edward Wilkins and Gertrude Tighe. He grew up in Quincy, MA where he had 3 siblings, Sally, Bobby, and Bud. While growing up on the water he had a passion for sailing and at one point served as commodore of the Squantum Yacht Club. He enrolled in the service in Feb. 1945 and is a proud veteran from the U. S. Coast Guard. Following his honorable discharge, he received a degree in accounting from Bentley College in Boston, MA. He met his wife, Jacqueline Macfarlane, in Boston and they were married in Bethel, Maine on June 2, 1956. They resided in Canton and Scituate, MA while he worked for the Sheraton in Boston as a hotel engineer. They relocated to Altamonte Springs, FL where he continued his career with Helmsley Spear and then later started his own business as a hotel consultant. Bill and Jackie retired in their home in Longwood, Florida and move to Mt. Dora in 2015. He is resided by his wife Jackie, daughter Donna, son-in-law Michael, grandsons Sean, Steven and Danny. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golf, traveling, and was an avid bridge player. He enjoyed Sheraton Reunions and was a member of Rolling Hills Golf Club, and the Florida Lighthouse Association. A loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed and put to rest at the Florida National Cemetery – Bushnell, Florida.
