May 27, 1938 – March 1,2021
William Lewis Passmore, Jr of Ocala, FL, passed away on March 1, 2021, at the age of 82. William (Bill) was born on May 27, 1938, in Thomaston, GA, only son to William L Passmore, Sr. and Altie Passmore.
Bill joined the Air Force at the age of 18 to serve his country as an air traffic controller. His first tour was to France, where he met the love of his life, Jocelyne. Bill did one tour in the Vietnam War, for which he later received a bronze star for heroic achievement in a combat zone. After 20 years of Honorable service, Bill retired from the Air Force at the rank of Master Sergeant.
After retiring from the military Bill felt a call on his life to serve God, he graduated from Rhema Bible College and became a pastor. He served his God with as much fervor and commitment as he did his country.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Jocelyne Passmore, his three children Cathy Davis, Michael Passmore, and Michelle Passmore. Also, by his four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Though we all mourn, we know the separation is only temporary, and in the faith of Christ, we will all unite again one day.
Bill will be remembered for his gentle, quiet nature and his kind spirit. Also, to his credit, was his endless love and devotion to his family and Jesus Christ. He has left a huge legacy and example to all the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, cherished, but never forgotten.
There will be a memorial done by the military to honor Bill's life on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:30 PM at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to a charitable veteran’s organization.
