Today heaven received an angel, William ‘Bill’ O’Neal. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend ,veteran and devoted Christian.
Bill’s parents were William and Aileen O'Neal. Siblings included Erie (brother) and Loreen O'Neal that reside in KY , Berea (sister) and John (deceased ) Waters reside in TN, and Corrine (sister) and Wayne (deceased) Cox reside in Ohio. He lived a bountiful life of 84 years with his surviving wife, Esther O’Neal. They just celebrated their 64th year of marriage.
They have three children. The oldest daughter is Pamela Mossides, husband George Mossides , their children Gust and Olivia. Only son David O'Neal, wife Kathy and children, Scott, Jennifer, Justin and Jeremy. Youngest daughter, Victoria Steck, husband Mike Steck, children Jessica and Aaron with several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bill served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and is an honored veteran. His time in the United States Armed Forces was for 3 years as a specialist class 4. Bill was employed at Big Bear Grocery in the transportation department for 35 years. Bill was an active member of the teamsters. Bill and Esther were born and raised in Kentucky.
Shortly after they got married, they moved their young family to Ohio. They lived in Ohio forty years. When they retired, they decided to spend the rest of their time in Florida. Bill and Esther became active members of First Baptist Church. Within the church community, Bill took on a leadership role as a Deacon, helped with many projects, and developed many close friends. Bill loved to fish in all types of water and owned several types of boats. When he was not fishing he was out in the yard tending to his flowers and was an active gardener. Bill loved reading and watching western movies. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Heaven gained an angel but on Earth, we lost a pillar of society.
