Virginia Lee Volk Morlock died on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the age of 88. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and spent most of her life in the Baltimore area. Around 1982 she moved to Maryland’s eastern shore, years later to Naples, Florida, and then to Ocala, Florida.
Ginny was a fiercely independent woman; born at a time when women were expected to stay home and raise the children. She had to learn to fend for herself at an early age. She was a successful real estate agent in Maryland for many years with Grempler Realty; O’Conor, Piper & Flynn Realty; and William J. Byrnes Realty. Ginny was active in many volunteer organizations throughout her life, from Op Sail in Baltimore to politics in Florida. Integrity was her favorite word and she fought for what she felt was right. She loved art, music, animals, traveling, tall ships, the ocean, sunsets, and writing poetry about all of these things. Per her request, her remains will be scattered at sea.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, the Christian Science Church, Interfaith Emergency Services of Marion County Florida, or another charity that is close to your heart.
Virginia was the twin of Phyllis (Phiddy) Jean Barnes and sister of Leonore (Lynn) Ivey and was the last of 3 daughters of Inez Cofiell and Phillip Irvin Volk. She leaves behind 3 children: Paula Mank, Donna Morlock (Cromer) and George Morlock; 2 grandchildren: James Cromer and Nathan Cromer; and 1 nephew: Richard Ivey.
