

Vincent Calandra, 80, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025 in his home in Lady Lake, FL after his long struggle with cancer. He endured the struggle with grace, dignity and positivity. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend and his presence will be deeply missed.
Vinny was born on July 23, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents Charles and Frances Calandra. He spent his childhood in Brooklyn, where he met his future wife, Marianne as a teenager. Vinny served honorably in the US Army. He married Marianne in 1968 and they were blessed with 3 sons; Christopher, Steven and Vincent. Marianne and Vinny remained in Brooklyn for the early years of their marriage before moving to Staten Island, New York. In 1985, they relocated to New Milford, CT.
He later welcomed two grandchildren, Marissa and Dominic into his life. Vinny loved being a grandfather. He took pride in attending sports games on the weekends, taking trips to Disney , and doing anything to make his grandchildren smile.
One of Vinny’s favorite things to do with his wife was to travel. He was blessed to visit dozens of countries during his life, as well as getting to experience many domestic travel destinations. Post retirement, Vinny and Marianne moved to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and their next phase of life. He made many new friends in Florida and he enjoyed spending time with them doing things like playing pool, discussing books & movies and breaking bread together.
Vinny was a hard working, kind and loving man. He was always known to put a smile on the face of those around him. Vinny was a wonderful storyteller and anyone who knew him will miss hearing them. He will forever be remembered in the hearts and lives of his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife Marianne and his sons Christopher and Vincent. Steven predeceased him. He is also survived by Marissa, Dominic and his siblings Michael and Virginia Calandra.
