Susan Nelson Holmes

Susan Nelson Holmes, 82, of Ocala, FL, passed away on July 31, 2026, at Cates Hospice House in Ocala, Florida. She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on October 16, 1943. Her parents were Elmer and Marie Nelson. She graduated from Brockton High School and Chandler School for Women in Boston. Her family moved from Massachusetts to Florida in the 1970s. She worked alongside her husband John in the produce business. She also worked in the Administration offices for Tampa University and Lifepath Hospice of Tampa Florida until she retired. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She married Robert on February 2nd of 2020.

Susan was predeceased by a brother, Alvin; a sister, Barbara; and a husband, John Holmes; and son-in-law, Charley Snyder.

She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Miller of Ocala Florida; children, Jeffrey Holmes of Lakeland, Florida, Amy Snyder of Ocala Florida; daughter-in-law, Tammy; and grandchildren Aubrey and Elliot of Lakeland, Florida.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 2pm at Joy Lutheran Church at 7045 SW 83rd Pl, Ocala FL 34476. Donations in lieu of flowers to Joy Lutheran Church, Hospice of Marion, 3231 SW 34th Ave, Ocala Fl,34474 or DementiaSociety.org are suggested. She will be missed by many, especially her loving husband.
