Rose Marie Ruffo Kawalec, passed away on Nov 8, 2018. Born August 10, 1932 in Lansdale, PA. Daughter of the late Joseph Ruffo and Theresa Schembri Ruffo. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Adolph P Kawalec, daughter Anastacia Tiedemann, son Dolph Kawalec III, and 7 grandchildren, Samuel, Charles, Henry, Luciana and William Tiedemann as well as Shaun and Samantha Kawalec. As the youngest child she was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister as well as her sisters Millie Farina, Mary Long, Johanna Kramrsic, brothers Augustus, James, Gerald and Joseph Ruffo Jr. She is survived by her sister, Mae Jean baker, nieces Bonnie Tomassetti, Sandra Long, Kelly Garis, Mary Jane Raffiano, nephews Ron Baker, Patrick Baker, Scott Ruffo and Jeffrey Ruffo.
Rose Marie graduated from Lansdale High School in 1950. She earned school letters for cheerleading and field hockey. Rose Marie worked for Philco Ford in Lansdale as executive secretary to the Vice President of Semiconductor Sales. She was active in the Venture Club and served as President for two years.
She married Adolph Kawalec in 1965 and moved to Marlton, NJ.
She worked as an executive secretary to the Plant Manager at Standard Pressed Steel Corporation in Jenkintown PA.
She moved to the Pocono Mountains in East Stroudsburg PA with her family and lived there for 26 years. She was active in St. Matthews Catholic Church, volunteering in the Pastoral Office. During this time she worked as a bookkeeper and rental agent for Fernwood Enterprises, and then became a Real Estate Agent with Caldwell Banker as well as a homemaker and Soccer Mom.
In the 90's she travelled with her husband to Spain, England, Ireland, France and Italy. On retirement Al and Rose Marie moved to Summer Glen in Ocala, Florida in November 2004.
She was active initially in the Summer Glen community serving on the re-cycling committee and was active in introducing re-cycling to the Summer Glen Community.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at St. Theresa Catholic Church 11528 SE HWY 301 in Belleview FL on Nov 27th at 11 AM, friends and neighbors are welcome.
Her cremains will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL in a private family ceremony.
