Over the years, he served as a Systems Manager at Kraft Foods, Principal of Information Systems at Arthur Young, and Vice President of Information Systems at Ball Seed. He later became a McDonald’s franchise owner in Chicago and served as President and General Manager of Vicki Whipple Partners, where he also held an Illinois Realtor License.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robert found joy in golf, tennis, and traveling the world with Vicki, the love of his life. He adored their schnauzers, especially Griswold (“Grizzy”), and the companionship they brought to his life. For more than 40 years, he was an active member of St. Luke Church in Downers Grove, Illinois, where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, sang in the choir, and participated in multiple pastoral selection committees. He also volunteered as a Starter and Referee for the Central Swimming Association of Illinois. Robert lovingly cared for his father-in-law, Kenneth (Virginia) Sharpe, for several years – an example of the profound generosity and devotion that defined his life.
