Robert Edward Deland

Robert Edward DeLand passed away peacefully early Friday morning, July 28, 2017. Bob was born July 6, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, later living in both Davie, Fl and The Villages, Fl. He was a very accomplished man. He played the piano, enjoyed tennis, golf, stick ball and was a great dance partner to the love of his life, Genevieve, his wife of 63 years. Bob graduated from Kings Point Military Academy in New York and became a Pilot in the US Navy; a true Officer and a Gentleman. Bob married his true love Genevieve (Ceparano) and together have three children: Pati (Jim Zoschenko), Jodi (Mark Batten) and Robert C (Dawn Risinger) and four grandchildren, Mark & Robert Batten, Brittani DeLand and grandpa's best buddy Ciro DeLand. Bob was an exceptional husband, father, friend and especially grandpa. Bob's sense of humor and smile lit up every room he entered. He left behind a legacy of memories that will fill our hearts forever. A funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 5323 E County Road 462 in Wildwood on August 25, 2017 at 10:30 am. A reception will be held in the Social Room at 11:30 am followed by a 2:30 pm graveside service at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Avenue in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite charity in memory of Bob DeLand.
