Renee T. Rioux

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Renee (LaPointe) Rioux on Friday January 9, 2026 in Leesburg Hospital after a heart attack and heart failure. Born on July 28, 1966 Renee was raised in Newington, CT by Philip and Geraldine LaPointe where she later graduated in the class of 1984. Shortly after high school Renee met her husband and moved to Cromwell, CT where they started their family on a farm. Renee is predeceased by her husband Robert Rioux also of Newington. Left missing her are her daughter Alexis Rioux and husband Jeremiah Bengtson, her daughter Amanda Rioux and husband Craig Testa, her son Philip Rioux, and her son Patrick Rioux and girlfriend Kayla. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Jayden, Owen, Charlotte, Jackson, Skylar, Oakley, Zoey, Amarah, and Kaleb. Renee loved being on, by, and in the water whether it was a pool, river, or ocean. With that she also loved being in the sun and warm weather. She took great pride in being a grandmother (NaNa) and loved her time with her grandchildren. The family has decided to keep all ceremonies private and appreciate your respect. In lieu of services the family has set up a fundraiser in memory of Renee to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
