He was born on July 3, 1925 in Silver Lake, NJ the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Pipitone.
Louis was a Veteran of World War II. He was extremely patriotic and loved his country. In September of 1943 he joined the armed forces and was assigned to the Naval Station Great Lakes in Great Lakes, IL. After graduating from Recruit Training Command, he was assigned to the Naval Training Station in NY and deployed to the destroyer USS Thompson as a Diesel Engineer. He patriciapted in wartime efforts within the Asiatic Pacific, American Area, and European African campaigns, to include the Normandy Invasion. Louis was awarded 2 campaign stars and the WWII Victory Medal.
He was a brave and loyal sailor, a devoted husband and a loving father. He married Hildegard Behr in Miami Shores, FL in 1957. He is survived by his wife, Hildegard; his sons, Ronald (Arlyn) and Richard (Dori); his daughter, Anna Maria (Jim); his two granddaughters, Erika and Brooke; his sister, Josephine Silhan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Charles and Matteo Pipitone.
A private military burial will take place at Florida National Cemetary in Bushnell, FL.
