Liane Irene Hammack Sickels, 92, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Earle F. Sickels Jr. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around love, faith, and family.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on December 13, 1932, Liane graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School before attending Kent State University. It was there, as a member of the marching band, that she met Earle, the love of her life. They married on December 27, 1952, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with devotion and joy.
Liane dedicated much of her life to serving others. She was a passionate volunteer, serving as a Sunday School teacher, an Elder, and a Deacon at Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church in Ocala, Florida. From 2004 to 2006, she was honored to serve as the Moderator of Presbyterian Women in the St. Augustine Presbytery, a role she carried with grace and dedication.
Above all, Liane was deeply loved for her warm, kindhearted spirit. She will always be remembered for her gentle touch, kind words, and ever-present smile. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her five children: Earle III (Lisa), Beth (Tim), Dan (Patricia), David (Vivian), and Jeff (Jennifer), along with 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
