A celebration of life mass will be held in his remembrance at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake, Florida, on July 22, 2019 at 8:30 AM. A military ceremony and burial will take place the following day at 11:30 AM at the Florida National Cemetery, SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida.
Larry was born in Detroit Michigan, graduated from St. Rita’s High School, and proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He met and married the love of his life, Elizabeth Hulway in 1954. After starting his family, he joined the St. Clair Shores Fire Department. To further his career, Larry began his studies in Fire Science at Madonna University of Livonia, Michigan. He was one of the first graduates of this ground-breaking program in 1976. At the time of his retirement in 1984, he had earned the rank of lieutenant and served as the city’s Chief Fire Inspector.
An active retiree, Larry participated in many outdoor activities such as golf, tennis and baseball. An avid card player, he enjoyed spending time playing games with friends and family. As the years past, Larry never lost his sense of humor and maintained his interested in local, national and world events.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Bettie of 65 years; his loving children, Susan Myers (Monte), Donald Michaels (Kathi), and Lorna Rosol (Peter); his adored grandchildren, Christopher Myers (Julie), Elissa Valentine (Bryan), Nicholas Rosol (Chesney), and Leigha Rosol; his precious great-grandchildren, Emerson, Quinn and Atticus; and dear brother, Richard Michaels.
