Jennifer Leigh Sharp

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer L Sharp, who passed away on April 10, 2023 at the age of 79. Jennifer was born on November 29th,1943 to Ivory H. and Margaret Haussler Sharp in Holdredge, Nebraska, and was raised alongside her Sister Brenda Y Sharp Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.

Jennifer had a rich and fulfilling life, filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She received her Ph.D in Entomology from the University of Hawaii and went on to work for the US Department of Agriculture in Miami for over 20 years. During this time, she made many friends and was highly respected by her colleagues for her intelligence, dedication, and kind-hearted nature. After retirement, Jennifer relocated to Brooksville FL

In her personal life, Jennifer was devoted to her dogs Cookie, and in particular, her Greyhound Shiloh who passed in 2015.

In her free time while in Miami, Jennifer enjoyed travel, sail surfing, diving and getting her private pilot’s license, and was known for her passion and skill in collecting butterflies and beetles from around the world.

Jennifer will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering spirit will be remembered always. She is survived by her Nephews Bryan and wife Amy Cash of Homosassa FL, Christopher Moore of Larned, KS, and Niece Sheila C and Husband Darren Skinner of Amarillo TX.
