James Martin Gould

James Martin Gould of The Villages, Florida passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on January 23, 1945 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the only child of George J. and Marie J. (nee Miller) Gould. He graduated from West Liberty University in West Liberty, West Virginia and for over 40 years was a certified safety and loss control consultant for insurance brokerage firms in Columbus Ohio, Albuquerque New Mexico, and Los Angeles California.

He gave up flying private planes for boating and enjoyed cruising the waters of Southern California and Mexico. He served on the board of Del Rey Yacht Club, Marina del Rey, California and was Commodore in 2012.

He met Marcia Griffin in Los Angeles and in 2013 they moved to The Villages to enjoy the active lifestyle, including golfing and playing duplicate bridge.

He is survived by his wife of over 33 years and her extended family and several cousins. A Celebration of Life is planned for later this summer.
