Ilona Gerda Drews

Ilona was married to Helmut Drews for 68 years. Mother of Jesse Drews (Laura), Harold Drews (Kathy) Dr. Michael Drews (Kristyn), also survived by six grand children, Lee Southard, Jason Southard, Jeff Drews (Kelsey), Andrew Drews, Ryan Drews, Brandon Drews, Tyler Drews(Preceded), great grandchild Luke Southard.

Ilona & Helmut came to America from Germany in 1957 and they lived in Roseville & Warren Michigan before retiring to Palm Harbor Florida. In recent years they made a new home in The Villages Florida.

Ilona was a very shy and private woman and took great pride in bringing up her three sons. She had a love for all kinds of animals including even a pet alligator they named tripod as it had only three legs. Ilona had various dogs over the many years and was a master in training them.

Her other interests were boating, fishing, and taking care of all the flowers and plants. Dancing and certainly baking & cooking were very special to her as well.

A private family funeral will be scheduled at a later date.
