Eldred J. Rosenthal

E.J. “Rosie” Rosenthal passed away at The Villages Hospital Wednesday, October 7th at the age of 85. He was born on July 16, 1941. He married Sandra Kitchin on May 5, 2001. She preceded him in death on August 3, 2025. He was a veteran who served in the Missouri and Georgia National Guard and was called to Active Duty to serve in the Vietnam War. He retired from United Airlines as a Captain in 2002.

After retirement, he and his wife moved to The Villages, FL where they both became avid golfers and pickel ball players. While at The Villages they developed a wide circle of friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Randal; sister-in-law, Emily Rosenthal; and brother-in-law, Bernard Kunz.

He is survived by a sister, Jo Ann Kunz of Glen Carbon, IL; and brother, Larry Rosenthal of Sparta, IL.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
