Major Donald A. Savage (Ret)

Vietnam Combat Veteran

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years Elizabeth "Bib" Mowrey Savage

He is survived by his two children, Lorraine Hinkle (Karl) and Mark Savage (Elisa) and, five grandchildren, Joshua Hinkle (Kelly), Christopher Hinkle (Rachel), Brent Savage, Kari Savage, Sarah Hinkle Hobbs (Kyle) and eight great grandchildren, Cayden, Hunter, Ashlyn, Emma, Noah, Tinley, Ansley and Hadley.

After graduating at Parkesburg PA High School, class of 1951, he joined the US Air Force as a pilot. While stationed in Texas, he returned to Parkesburg PA to marry his sweetheart, Bib and start a family. Over the years they moved to many times and lived in many places. After 20 years Don retired. They moved to Tampa FL, so that he could complete his BA at the University of Tampa. While there he was recruited by the Treasury Dept. He worked there for a time before fully retiring. Bib and Don found their forever home in The Villages. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, gardening and the theater.

Most of all he loved his family. We were blessed to live close enough to spend holidays and special events together. Although he is not with us now, his legacy will live on.
