Charles Robert “Bob“ Kerns was born October 15, 1944 in Martinsburg, West Virginia and passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in The Villages, Florida at the age of 73.
He served his country in the United States Army, also serving in Vietnam. He was with the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller for more than 20 years. He retired from the State of Texas Department of Public Safety where he was Communications Operator.
Bob remained dedicated to his family throughout his life, starting with his beloved wife, Jeannie and their children, son Robbie Kerns (and his wife, Tina) and daughters, Kim Ella Niemier and Joy Ialacci (and her husband, Wesley.
He will live on in the hearts of his four grandchildren, granddaughters Kirsti Kerns and Kelsey Kerns and grandsons Brandon “Punk” Niemier and Michael Ialacci and two great-grandchildren, grandsons Michael Ialacci III and Matthew Ialacci.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Cicero and Mary Louise Kerns of West Virginia and he is survived by a brother, Richard Lee Kerns and a cherished brother-in-law, Lee Jewett and his wife Sandy and many loving nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews and he has touched the hearts of many friends and family members and will be dearly missed by all.
