Carolyn Cole Maggard

July 27, 1941 – July 31, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Maggard, who peacefully passed away at her home in Williston, Florida on July 31, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Waterville, Maine, Carolyn spent her childhood in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, where she created many fond memories and lifelong friendships. A graduate of Tewksbury Memorial High School, she began her family in Lowell, Massachusetts and later made Florida her home, where she spent the majority of her adult life.

Carolyn appreciated the simple pleasures in life. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening and caring for her outdoor flowers and houseplants. She was known for her unmistakable expression, “Bless your heart,” a phrase her family always understood carried its own unique meaning. What she treasured most was simply being together with those she loved.

Those who knew Carolyn understood her quiet strength and independent spirit. She was blessed with an unshakable faith in God, and enjoyed reading and sharing scripture with loved ones daily. She valued the comfort and familiarity of home. It was where she found peace, where countless family memories were made, and where she chose to spend her final days. Although her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort knowing she departed this life in the place she loved most.

Carolyn’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind.

She is survived by her three children: her daughter, Caroline Maggard of Fontana, California; her son, Christopher Condon and his wife, Penny Condon, of Dallas, Georgia; and her youngest daughter, Kimberly Gallagher and her significant other, Ronald Fontair, of Plymouth, Massachusetts.

She was a proud grandmother to Nicholas Condon, Salem Clawthorne, Nicole Maggard, Jared Maggard, Erin McClelland, Solveig Mosley, Hank Maggard, Anica Maggard, Kayla Maggard and their families.

Carolyn is also survived by her stepchildren, Woodrow Maggard Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Orem, Utah, and Marsha Maggard Gibson and her husband Dale, of Lost City, Oklahoma.

She is further survived by her sisters, Patricia Allen, of Maine and Florida, and Elizabeth Proper, of Hatfield Massachusetts, and her nieces and nephews Scott Cole, Jeff Cole, Kate Alonis, Matt Allen, Katrina Keptner, and Forrest Proper and their families.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow Maggard Sr.; her stepson, Scott Maggard; her parents Kenneth and Mildred Cole; and her brothers, Robert Cole and William Cole; and her former husband Raymond Condon, father of her children.

Carolyn’s life was one of resilience, strength, and unconditional love for her family. Though miles often separated them, the bond of family remained. She was always there to listen when her children needed someone to talk to, offering comfort during life’s most difficult moments. Her love was often shown through quiet acts of care, concern, and unwavering support.

Her family will forever remember her gentle smile, her independent spirit, her love of home, the flowers she lovingly tended, the familiar words of “Bless your heart,” and the memories shared around family gatherings and holidays.

Though her earthly journey has ended, Carolyn’s love, strength, and memory live on in the family she cherished. Her legacy will endure through the stories that are shared, the lessons she imparted, and the generations that follow.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Saturday August 22nd at 11am, at Williston Church of God in Williston, Florida.
