Carole is best known for her spirit of camaraderie for all that she came in contact; her infectious laugh was warmly welcoming to all and could be heard “for miles.” She was known as “Corkie” amongst her Castleton friends. Carole was always up for a social event; a get-together on the deck at the lake, league night at the golf course, holiday family celebrations with Pennebrook friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. One thing is for sure, you could always count on getting a birthday card from Carole.
For all that she gave to people, Carole never expected much in return from others. Nothing more than a simple thank you and appreciation of the kindness she offered. Her students describe their interactions with Carole as bringing out the best in them. “Grace and courage,” were symbolic of Carole’s interactions with students, friends, and family. Her friendly nature and patience opened the door for learning lessons that ended up being lifelong experiences for people.
A Memorial service celebrating Carole’s life will be held at the Lake St. Catherine Country Club on Sunday June 21 at 12:00pm, lunch will be served.
Internment will take place at Hope Cemetery in Barre, VT at the convenience of the family.
